Ah yes...the old dumpster diving stage. Love it.
Eating a muffin from said dumpster diving stage:
Gross. Not too gross to take a picture first though. :) Haha. I love that guilty look!
Ah yes...and then there's the good old move-the-stool-wherever-you-need-it stage:
But at least he's not climbing as high when using the stool, right?!?
Grabbing what you want from the counter from said stool stage:
Including the always favorite--brother's toothbrush and the box that he put up high so "no one" can reach it. :)
Next we have the borrowing other people's clothes stage:
Carson loves to wear Caleb's slippers and walk all over the house. It's hilarious!
My poor freezing Texas boy...freezing in 60 degree weather. Needed my sweatshirt.
I found Caleb like this one day:
Awe. An aspiring scout. His eagle earning uncles would be so proud! :)
Next stage: everything road sign stage
Caleb loves road signs lately. He asks about each and every one everywhere we go. And makes sure I follow the signs. "Mom...did you see that yield sign? Did you yield?" "Mom that sign said 30. Are you going 30?" He will definitely keep us honest!
And who doesn't love that the-Tuesday-after-the-superbowl-free-grand-slam-for-everybody-at-Denny's Stage. Right?
"All this?!? For me?!?! For free?!?"
"Caleb...hook a brother up!"
Then there's that blasted sick stage. Bleh. You know they're sick when...
...they want to take a nap.
...and when they will just lay on the kitchen floor by you while you cook dinner.
Saddest little picture ever. :(
Next we have the crazy animal petting zoo stage:
Um...yes...yes...that is a llama.
Those animals were a little too crazy for me. I had a slight nudging and shoving act on my hand just to get the dang food out of the machine. Those animals mouths were right under it and pushing my hand out of the way. What I won't do for those kids of mine.... :)
Carson--he loves animals too. From afar. As long as we were holding him, he was all excited.
When we put him down--not so excited. Aubrey was nice enough to oblige. I think we need to spend more time around animals--I was surprised to see he was a little nervous of them. But I thought about it--he really hasn't spent much time around animals ever. Lexi? Are you available to train our kid #2 to love animals? :)
The snow in Texas stage:
That's right friends. We actually had a tiny bit of snow here in San Antonio. Who would have thought?!? Caleb HAD to call Grandpa and let him know that his snow had made it's way all the way to our house! The boys kept opening up the back door, grabbing some ice/snow from the deck and putting in in a bowl to watch it melt. Hours of entertainment right there.
And now the imitate everything stage:
I was very surprised to see Carson pick up the paint brush, pretend to dip it in the water jug like brother does, and start "painting." So cute! The other day, he picked up a wet diaper from downstairs, carried it upstairs and brought it to the diaper genie in his room. He also loves to lead the music anytime he hears it and.... He's picking up on so much right now! So fun!
But then there's that fun best of pals stage. The best stage of all. That stage where the boys will just pal around and giggle with each other. It's my favorite stage, really.
"Will you please just take the picture so we can go down the slide now?"
If Chris is home, he usually has these two appendages crawling all over him. Starting the minute he wakes up!
Kind of a dark picture, but Caleb showed Carson how to fly his first kite! Carson was walking all over the empty parking lot flying it by himself. So cute!!!
"Ok...here's the plan. We head to the next aisle and we'll ask for a new movie.... When we get to that aisle over there--we'll go for some candy. Got it?"
"You fly the plane. I'll supervise."
See Kip D! Older siblings start very young making the younger ones do all the work!! It's the natural order of things. Don't fight it.
The mom of these kids should really teach her kids not to walk and jump on the couch. When they go to other people's houses--they'll probably think it's ok. Some people's moms.

I just love all the fun stages kids go through. You captured some of the very best!
Those boys are so cute!
What an awesome post! I love the muffin that came out of the garbage. That is sweet!
Your baby seems to be running right into toddlerhood. Man. When did that happen? I was hugging Nicholas today before nap and thinking, I just don't want him to get bigger! At least not so fast!
Time flies when you're having fun.
I must chastise you...you are not a good molly mormon when you let you kids eat out of the trash (even if it was above the rim and on a doily) and jump on the couch. This would never happen at Auntie Sandie's house...
Wait...wait...wait...
I would have probably grabbed the camera to take the muffin pic or not even stopped dr. mario to stop him...remember the story of claire eating lady bugs...and I would have been jumping on the couch with the boys...so I can't judge you...dang it swotwonk! Dang you!
