Revenge

So Chris thinks he's pretty funny with that last post. Posting a nice picture of me and acting like I posted it. Funny, Chris. Well, the only problem with his logic is that I have WAY more funny pictures of him. Here is a small sampling:

And so, I am making a plea to anyone and everyone to please help me exact my revenge. Please send me any and all awesome pictures of Chris that you have. Then we will have an awesome post. Come on...you know you have some somewhere! Help me out!

Look at me!

I remember a time when I posted a picture to my blog of Chris wearing a chicken hat without him knowing. I thought it was pretty funny. Secretly, I wanted him to post this picture of me without me knowing. Two thumbs WAY up!

Funny People

I just love people. Especially ones that make me laugh.

On Saturday, being the big spenders that we are lately, we got out a bunch of change from our piggy bank and rode the bus downtown. Caleb has been asking to ride it again for quite sometime. And oh man. You certainly meet all walks of life when you ride the bus through the ghetto to go downtown. Our favorite was this guy who was talking about how the world is just going crazy and that the human race isn't going to be around much longer. You see...all those alien races are just laughing at us and will soon just take over the earth and.... :) Good to know. I am now a better informed human. And then there was the lady that asked me in all seriousness if my boys were twins. Uh, yeah. Never mind the very obvious size and developmental differences...I really don't think they look that much alike either. Matching shirts does not = twins. But thanks for asking. They really are cute in their matching shirts. Ahhh...the stories I could tell (and the ones I hope Caleb the sponge DOES NOT tell)...from that bus trip from all those interesting people. But I will try to refrain. Probably not appropriate for this here blog. Funny...but not appropriate. And we did have fun riding the bus and hanging out downtown.

While downtown, Carson took his first boat ride:

We tried to wait it out for one of the funnier boat drivers, but finally gave up and went with informative boat driver man.

And then there are our favorite people at the movie theater (also in the ghetto--but yet a different ghetto than Saturday---man we just like the ghetto, huh? What's that song..."in the ghetto..." this is a long parenthesis!) who put up one of our favorite signs:

I just think that is so funny. Sure, bring your toddler to the rated "R" movie--but ONLY before 6pm. What is up with that?

I told this guy in my sunday school class at church that he was "funny." He went around telling everyone that I thought he was funny. What I tried to help him understand is that there are a lot of meanings to being "funny." You know what I mean, right? So that being said.

And then there is funny Carson. I do not mean to put him in the same class of funny as the previously mentioned people. But he is funny in a different way.

We went to a movie the other night and he seriously talked and laughed through the whole thing! And he didn't laugh at the funny parts--just randomly throughout. I didn't feel too bad since it was only $.50 (yes, from our piggy bank. yes we are big spenders) for everyone there. Anyway, Carson is getting to be so funny. He did the same thing at church on Sunday. He has this little laugh that he does randomly every few minutes now--at all the inappropriate times at church. And Chris was conducting a meeting at church and was holding him (since I was a little late letting the class I teach out and we hadn't swapped yet) and apparently Carson just kept trying to talk loudly over him. Funny kid. People will call and ask if that is him in the background talking and laughing. They want to know who he is talking to or laughing at...yeah...I have to tell them that no one else is in the room. Apparently he finds something funny though. I don't know what he thinks is so funny or what he is constantly talking about...but I can't wait to find out!

And I can't leave out the ever funny Caleb.

I can't express to you enough how much he makes me laugh. Everything he says is funny to me. The way he says it is funny too. And his little facial expressions and body language? Just funny. All day every day. Even when I shouldn't think it's funny--I can't help it. I'm a bad parent. I laugh. Hysterically. And I shouldn't. But I just think it's too funny. (If you're dying for examples of funny stuff he says, see "Calebisms" posted on the right hand side of this blog.)

p.s. What on earth (that's not going to be around much longer after we are all destroyed by the laughing aliens) you ask, do those pictures have to do with this post? Absolutely nothing. It goes back to that feeling of wrongness I get when I post something without pictures. You know....

Last Week in Pictures

Last week in pictures:

We heard the Disney Train Tour was in town, so we went downtown to check it out. When we went to park, the parking guy warned us that the air conditioning on the train was broken and that the line just to get on the train was at least two hours. We decided to skip it since Chris had to be back to a church meeting. But since Caleb was SOOOOOO excited to check out the train, we told him we would go check out another train. Just a couple miles away at the zoo. So we took Carson on his first train ride.

Waiting for the train:

With a nice healthy snack. :)

On said train:

Posing by the train:

We are lucky enough to live just a couple blocks from one of Chris's cousins. Most of her family came down for a visit and we were lucky enough to have 5 of these crazies stay with us:

Katrina is the photographer! This one is kind of silly, but she took so many amazing pictures!

We had so much fun getting to know them better and just playing together.

Here is Chris initiating the latest and greatest in idiot losing wear. (Not that I'm calling Chris an idiot. I wouldn't do that. Really. We love to play this game called idiot where the loser gets to wear something fun on their head through the next round. After teaching everyone the game, guess who lost the first round!! Ha! Love it!)

And Carson got to meet Nana (aka his great grandmother) who was also visiting from southern California:

Thanks for including us in your some of your plans! We had a great time!

We've also been back on the home improvement projects bandwagon. We have lots of materials in our garage that we've had for about 3 years and we decided it was time to finish a few of them. Caleb loves to help!!

And an extra special thanks to Gavin who has been helping us out so much and motivating us to do more!!

Next, here is Carson, happy that after a couple posts ago, we got our air conditioner fixed and it only cost $50.

And here is Caleb so happy that we got to meet up with our friends, the Turner Family, at Hard Rock Cafe last weekend.

Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures. I think they took some, so we may have to convince them to send some that they took with their cute boys and ours. We love the Turners! Thanks for making time for us while you were in town!! And thanks for being so thoughtful! You guys are amazing!!

What's that? No. We're not done yet. I'm the queen of long posts lately!!

Carson has started taking piano lessons:

He seriously loves to pound this thing! Thanks, Grammy! Both boys now love this toy!

As soon as Caleb hears that Carson is awake, he gets all excited and says, "Mom! Listen! Do you hear that?!? Carson's awake! Yeah!!!! Let's go get him!!!" and then races me up the stairs.

As soon as we go into Carson's room, Caleb climbs in his bed and plays with Carson for awhile. I love it too.

Have I mentioned before that Chris has awesome coworkers? Jo Anne was nice enough to invite us out to her farm. Her sheep just had lambs and we had to go check them out. But we had to do a lot more than that too. :) Chris and Caleb took quite the four wheeler ride:

Caleb got to help feed the animals:

And ride the beautiful horse:

They also had 5 border collies. Caleb LOVED the dogs and thought it was so funny when the dogs would jump in the water and get wet.

By the time we left, I had convinced myself that I wanted a border collie. What fun dogs!!

Here Caleb is getting ready to go help herd the sheep:

We did so much stuff that I don't even remember right now what else we did. Suffice it to say we had too much fun! Thanks again, Jo Anne!

Here is Carson saying, "What, mom?!? I'm just sitting here innocently smiling in my awesome Bumbo chair...."

Until you turn around for a second. Then I will get myself out of the chair.

Our days of Bumbo chairs are now over. He gets out in about two seconds flat now. He is ALL over the place now. Nothing is safe on the floor or within a ten foot radius of where you're holding him.

And then there is the next installment of pictures from my Wanna-Be-National-Geographic-Photographer husband:

Remember the pictures he took of skunks in our yard? That possum living under our deck? And that nasty spider? Well, whatever this is...it is gross. I don't even want a picture of it on my camera. Let alone on my deck at night.

And finally there is the always hammy and entertaining Caleb. I came in the room the other day to find this:

Underwear and jeans on his head. Shirt used as pants. Nice. Caleb really does keep us constantly entertained.

Like this:

Lightning McQueen slippers, Veggie Tales Bob hat, red bat, standing on the back of the couch, singing at the top of his lungs. Classic.

Spoiled

I'm slow posting this. Must be my age. :) A couple weekends ago it was my birthday and it was awesome! I felt like I was on an episode of Oprah's Favorite Things, except it was Krista's favorite things!

Things like going shopping at the mall, Chris insisting I take a nice long nap, going to Carrabbas with just Chris (where they have this Fillet Marsala that is pretty much heaven--I'm not sure if I should curse you or thank you Christensen family for introducing us to it!!). Or how about on Sunday when Chris made these awesome crepes for breakfast and the infamous yummy Deonne kabobs for dinner. He also made my favorite dessert, angel pie! (I'm not a huge cake fan.) As I was putting the boys to bed, I thought Chris was working on a couple things for church. He was actually baking a cake. I came downstairs and there were some friends sitting on our couch. I thought, oh cool, they stopped by to say hello! Then the doorbell rang again--more friends. And then again and again and again. Hmmm. I finally caught on. Chris had invited a bunch of people over to celebrate my birthday. I had no idea! He had also asked a bunch of friends and family to write down memories. It was so fun to read over them!! Chris did an awesome job and I really had a good birthday. Thank you to everyone who babysat, wrote down memories, sent cards, called, came by, etc. I really felt spoiled!

And then there is my awesome sister who is the queen of awesome packages! Talk about all my favorite things! One of the things she sent was this electronic game of Press Your Luck. Growing up we were pretty much game show junkies and we LOVED Press Your Luck. Still do. Some of my siblings and I are going to take a trip to California just to go on every game show that we can. It's going to be great. So sometimes when we get together, we "practice" our game shows online. ;) And this was just made easier by such a cool gift. Caleb is also practicing up in hopes of joining the game show marathon:

What do you think Kip D? Will he make the cut? (p.s. My high score is $168,000- higher than yours, right?!? :)

Thank you so much to all of you who helped make my birthday so fun this year!!
